I · The Position

Built around what's already working.

Most contractor websites in South Florida look the same. Generic blue. Stock photos of trucks. The same five trust badges arranged in a row. Tabora's existing brand has something almost none of them have: warmth, personality, a clear point of view.

We're not throwing that away.

This direction takes the spirit of Omar's logo — the cream paper, the deep navy ink, the terracotta and teal accents from the wood-grain background — and translates them into a refined, modern, bilingual web presence.

The mood, in one line

Editorial, not corporate. Crafted, not stamped out.

The site reads like a design magazine for the trades — with the warmth and personality of Omar's hand-drawn logo carried through every page. Bold serif headlines. Color blocks pulled straight from the card. Real Palm Beach County work, treated with consistent warm color grading. Twenty-five years of careful craft, presented the way it deserves to be presented.

II · Color System

A palette pulled directly from Omar's logo and card.

The cream, the navy, the terracotta, the teal, the maroon — every color on the site comes from somewhere on the existing brand.

Cream
#FAF6EC · 70% of pixels
Page background. The dominant surface. Calmer and lighter than the logo's printed cream so it reads cleanly on screens.
Ink
#1F3949 · 20%
Headlines, body text, primary marks, dark sections. The deep navy from Omar's hand-drawn wordmark.
Terracotta
#DD6F3D · 7%
Primary accent. CTAs, key highlights, the one color a visitor's eye is drawn to. Used with intent.
Teal
#3DA0AC · 2%
Secondary accent. Decorative stripes, highlights, paint-stripe patterns. From the logo's left-side stripe.
Maroon
#9D3640 · 1%
Tertiary accent. Used very rarely for special emphasis. From the logo's center stripe.
Cream · 70%
Ink · 20%
Terracotta · 7%
Teal + Maroon · 3%
Approximate distribution across the site. Cream and ink anchor the design; the warm accents from Omar's card add the personality.
III · Typography

An editorial serif paired with a clean modern sans.

Newsreader carries the warmth and editorial character. Manrope carries the information.

Display Headline
Newsreader

Variable serif designed by Production Type for editorial use. Warm letterforms, clean italic, designed to work at both display and reading sizes. Self-hosted as woff2 in production.

Trabajo cuidadoso.
Section Heading on Ink
Newsreader · 38–60px

Used at the top of every section and page-level subhead. On dark sections, terracotta carries the italic emphasis.

A quarter-century of careful work.
Body on Terracotta
Manrope

Geometric humanist sans, weights 400 / 500 / 600. On terracotta sections, italics shift to ink for emphasis.

Tabora has painted, finished, and repaired homes and businesses across Palm Beach County for over twenty-five years. Interior, exterior, drywall, popcorn ceiling removal, stucco, baseboards, doors — and the small finish details everyone else forgets.

Eyebrow / Small caps
Manrope · 11px · Tracked

Section labels, tags, navigational micro-type. Always in terracotta on cream — color carries the function.

IV · The Logo

The mark Omar already owns — used well.

The existing logo carries real brand equity. Three placement rules below, then the same mark shown at every size from header to favicon.

Tabora logo on cream background
On cream — primary placement. Header, footer, about page hero. Use the full color logo at sizes 120px+ wide.
Tabora logo on ink background
On ink — dark sections, footers on photo overlays. The logo's cream center holds up against the deep blue.
Tabora logo on terracotta background
On terracotta — promotional accents only (banner ads, postcards). Use rarely; the full logo competes with the accent.

The logo across every size

Same mark, scaled across all use cases — header, mobile nav, social avatar, favicon. Complex hand-drawn logos like Omar's lose fine detail at very small sizes; that's expected. Recognition at thumbnail scale relies on the brand colors and silhouette, not on letterform readability.

Header · 160px
Tabora logo at header size
Primary placement. Full color, all detail visible. Used in site header, footer, about page hero.
Mobile / Avatar · 96px
Tabora logo at avatar size
Mobile navigation, Instagram/TikTok avatar, email signature. Script wordmark and brush still read clearly.
Favicon · 16 / 32 / 48px
16px 32px 48px
Browser tabs, OS app icons. The brand colors register at this scale — letterforms are not the priority here.

VI · Photography Direction

Three modes. Warm grading on every frame.

Most contractor sites have generic stock or phone photos pasted in raw. Tabora's site treats every image to a consistent editorial color grade — the same warm cream undertone that ties the whole brand together.

Editorial

Editorial

Wide. Soft natural light. Subject (room, exterior, Omar at work) framed with negative space. Used at hero, section openers, about page.

Detail

Detail

Tight crop on craft — brush strokes, cut lines, smooth drywall. Proves the work without saying a word. Used on services, FAQ, blog.

Before / After

Before / After

Side-by-side or sequential reveal. The single most persuasive visual a contractor has. Used in portfolio and select service pages.

Editing rules — applied to every image

Warm gradeSlight warm tint. +5 saturation. -10 highlights. Cream undertone in shadows.
One subject per frameNo cluttered shots. If a frame has too much going on, crop tighter or skip it.
Consistent crop4:5 portrait for cards. 16:9 for hero. 1:1 for thumbnails. No mixed aspect ratios on the same page.
No watermarks on photosThe brand mark sits on the page chrome, not stamped on the image.
People sparinglyShow Omar and the crew on the about page and a few key spots. Don't paste people into every section.
Min resolutionSource photos at 2400px wide minimum. Compressed to webp at 80–85 quality for delivery.
